Random Element Picker Wheel

“Choose an element to research” turns into a five-minute negotiation without a wheel. Spin for one — hydrogen, carbon, iron, gold — and the student who lands it owns the fact-file. It's just as handy as a starter: spin and ask for the symbol, group, or a use of whatever comes up. Edit the list to the elements your course focuses on.

How to use the random element picker

    1. Spin to assign each student an element to build a fact-file on.
    2. Use as a starter — spin, then ask for the symbol or a use of the element.
    3. Turn on “Remove winner” so a class covers a different element each.

    Random Element Picker questions

Can I include the whole periodic table?

You can add as many elements as you like by editing the list. Most teachers keep it to the elements their course covers rather than all 118.

    Does it show element data?

No — it lands on the element name only, so students look up or recall the symbol, group, and properties themselves.
