Won't changing the signal confuse students?

Only add signals the class has already been taught. Rotating among known cues keeps them fresh; introducing a brand-new one mid-lesson is what causes confusion, so teach it first, then add it.

How often should I spin?

Once at the start of a lesson or a transition is plenty — announce today's signal and stick with it, rather than switching every few minutes.

Can younger classes use this?

Yes — keep to two or three very familiar signals for the youngest students, and add more as the class masters them. Everything on the wheel is editable.
